What a fun way of raising fund was what i thought when i met up with Noah Oduwo Akala the Chairman of Afya Kenya Foundation a registered charity trust organization based in Nairobi, that seeks to provide quality health care to the rural and urban poor through free community health outreach camps. It was set up by student doctors who saw the need for such an initiative in the course of their apprenticeship.
The love of all this led to ART FOR AFYA
The show dubbed ART FOR AFYA happens every last Wednesday of the month at Mwenda's Court Yard on Utalii house, and you can bet this is entertainment you wont want to miss.
So by the time am writing this we are on Art for afya Vol 4,and the turn up and out come from the very simplified fun gigs has been overwhelming.
Every month Art for Afya comes up for a different course but all in aim of making the world a better place.
After the shows and various other charitable ways of raising money, the free community health outreach camps are conducted in public secondary or primary schools central in location to the area concerned. This provides a convenient location for the local community to access and a suitably spacious working area for the medical professionals.
It has ambassadors that represent it at various events among them being the supermodel Ajuma Nasenyana a Kenya based in NewYork, Dan 'Chizi Aceda and our Sauti Sol
