Alliance Francaise is where we headed with my friends for the Asali album lauch, well i really don't have much to say but, the show kicked off well with awesome curtain raisers that kept people anxiously waiting for the girl of the night Asali to finally launch 'Baba Speak',her debut album

Her back up's singers got on stage in style with an African dance and the rather 'Africanish' look that totally stood out.

I noticed the stage had like really cool set-up bringing out the real african touch, and finally Asali came running from the back giving a really energetic entrance, followed by vigorous dances that were soon joined by the back up's.She had an impressive African design

**ERIC WAINAINA** ' THE LEGEND'

View Comments
Okey maybe he should have been the first man that hit my website, beacuse he domineered but hey! Now he is here lets do it.

'Daima mimi mkenya mwanainchi mzalendo’
must be a jam that relates wel to all of us especially with the memories of the ‘post election violence’ that rocked our country late 2007 and it reminds us every time what our forefathers went through for freedom and peace.

Having scooped the Received the Head of State Commendation for his responsibility to social justice (December 2006) Eric wainaina was born in Nairobi, Kenya, to George Gitau Wainaina and Margaret Wangari Wainaina. He has one brother, Simon Wainaina.
His love for music started at a young age, although he grew up saying he will be a doctor. He got a piano at age 4, originally intended for his brother Simon who instead took keen interest in football. Wainaina thus grudgingly took piano lessons. He actively participated in the choir throughout elementary and high school at St. Mary's School, Nairobi, save for a short stint in basketball. Whilst growing up, Wainaina was influenced musically by international artists such as Papa Wemba, Youssou N'Dour, Lokua Kanza and Paul Simon.

**Harry K at Psys what you missed**

Harry K it had been a while since i saw this lad, well he never dissapointed at the last edition of Blankets and wines and i was sure he wouldn't dissapoint on this one so i was there on time.

A well lit, and inviting stage at psys, Dj Mista Cee of Blackstar entertainment giving an awesome background music with the latest neosoul jams and i could bet, it was sure going to be an an amazing night.

The show had to kick of eventually, and the 'Waithera' song that harry chose as the sound check track, made the whole room go silent as people now paid more attention to the music and not the screens and their drinks.

Psys Westlands is doing something that most cubs won't risk trying, first of its slow music, in Kenya known as 'love music'(yes we are special like that we Kenyan's), secondly LIVE MUSIC performed by local talent, come one...oh and yes it the World cup fever season you can be sure many weren't there for music huh!!!

**SUPRA THE FOOTWEAR**

View Comments
You have seen them i can bet, yes the new trendy footwear with every guy who got a sense of style.

So lately i have been learning the names of this shoes and yeah this particular piece is called that Supra.

Supra is a Latin word that stands for 'above and beyond' and the creator itself thinks its important to have a great name to appeal to a fresh, new crowd of hip, young youths.

Supra, the name itself reeks of something creative, new and fresh.
The Supra brand of footwear is different, not your everyday Nike and All Star its not like the rest of the brands are not good, as a matter of fact they are akl super, but many would prefer a contender, someone to come up with something new and exciting and give the other foot wares a run for their money and in my personal view, I think Supra is IT.

Breaking traditions, experimenting with colors and designs, and attracting a loyal enthusiast of big names from Nike to Converse to Adidas, Supra has managed to spontaneously combust in a market place swamped with black, lo-fi blando-sneakers. Supra's collection of neo-classical Skytops and their 14k gold Chad Muska model has caught the attention of many and has been sold out in nano-second.

The reasons that make Supra appealing are their challenging designs that are as ostentatious as they are original, sporting multiple buckles, gold chains and blinding patent leather. Their over-the-top designs have successfully managed to rip the hugely competitive market of sneakers that are filled with black, lo-fi bland sneakers.

The Safaricom Sevens 2010 edition will be held from 4-6th June, 2010 at the home of Kenyan Rugby – the RFUEA Grounds, Ngong Road, Nairobi, Kenya. Since its inception in 1996, the Safari Sevens tournament has continued to grow in strength as more and more quality sides express interest in attending Africa’s premier 7-a-side rugby tournament.

Safaricom having taken over the title sponsorship of the event now dubbed, Safaricom Sevens, promises an even greater event.

Fourteen teams have confirmed participation in Africa’s premier rugby tournament. Defending champions, Kenya will be hard pressed to defend the main cup title they won last year after demolishing the Emerging Boks from South Africa 40-19 in the finals. With last year’s runners up Emerging Boks leading the quality field in town, this year’s tournament promises to be a highly competitive event let alone a quality one. Other teams gracing the event star team Argentina, Grenoble, Bristol, Ponsonby, Georgia as well as African sides Zimbabwe, Namibia, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Botswana and Morocco.

Oooppss they did it again, barely two months after Sauti Sol won the CHAT Awards as the best group of the year, the four young men did it again, Sauti sol was crowned the Best Group as they tie with P-Square of Nigeria in the Museke Online Africa Music Awards (MOAMAs), this has been a great year for the young talents as they have already left four a tour in Europe.

In the winning list was still another Penya Signed, Just a Band popularly known as 'JAB' they won the Record of the year, Usinibore. The Three young men who brought the Makmende revoulution are sure a group to keep your eye on at siteiya.com as we will do a full feature on them.

Kenyan music is surely taking a good course and we are grateful for the bands lifting the East African Flag high.

All the manager Wesh could say was IMEKUBALIWA a swahili word for 'its been accepted'.
